The RESOMIL network

THE NETWORK IN SUMMARY

The management of microbial genetic resources about dairy purposes is in progress under the auspices of the French dairy inter-professional structures. The network associates three types of collections: collections of public institutions, technical centres or dairy private enterprises, collections of dairy industry and structures working on genetic resources. The RESOMIL network program (project, actions, set up) is (are) described in a charter and a rule of procedures.

All of the current microorganisms that are involved in dairy products (filamentous fungi, yeasts, bacteria and bacteriophage virus) are of interest.

The purposes of this network is to improve the management and the preservation of collections, to raise these and to encourage development and exchanges of knowledge between stakeholders, to standardize methods for the typing of strains, to diffuse the main results towards the scientific community and the dairy inter-professional actors.

The National Collection of dairy microorganisms, whose genetic resources are available, and can be exchangeable and valuable, exist. It's name is "France MIL".
